Age 57 On July 18, 2008, Daniel Joseph MacNeil, (Dan the drummer), passed away peacefully at the Carpenter Hospice in Burlington, Ont., after a battle with cancer. Dan worked for Golden Windows for 22 years in Kitchener, Ont. He played in various bands in Nova Scotia as well as in Ontario. Dan had a great zest for life and all who he came in contact with. Music was one of his greatest passions next to his family. Through his battle, Dan hung on for the arrival of his first granddaughter, Ada Danielle, born June 29, 2008. He was predeceased by parents, Mary and Michael MacNeil and brother, Michael (Nick) MacNeil. Dan will be sadly missed by his daughters, April (Brendan) Glass, Leanne (Jason) MacNeil, Linda MacNeil and granddaughter, Ada Danielle Glass; sisters, Florence Chang, Glace Bay, and Charlene (Bill) Houlihan, Halifax; and many nieces and nephews. Daniel will be lovingly missed by his long time companion, Kymme Sun, Burlington. There was a family service at Smith’s Funeral Home in Burlington, Ont. Cremation followed and interment took place at Williamsburg Cemetery, Kitchener, Ont. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Dan’s name Always in our heats and thoughts, Dan the drummer is in Heaven.
