51, Dartmouth Mark Charles Williston, 51, of Dartmouth, N.S., passed away July 22, 2008, at QEII VG Site. Born in Chatham, N.B., he was the son of Carmen and the late Renée (VanMarsenille) Williston and stepmother, Nellie (Waye) Williston. Mark graduated from James M. Hill Memorial High School, Chatham in 1976 from where he started his electrical training and then continued to apprentice under local electricians to obtain his licence. Along with his cousin Kerry Williston, they travelled to Calgary on their motorcycles where Mark apprenticed and received his industrial electrical certification as well as his inter provincial licence. Mark returned to Nova Scotia in 1984 where he obtained employment with MT&T (Aliant) as a cable splicer. One of the things Mark loved was being outdoors where he enjoyed camping and fishing. Other than his family, Mark’s biggest passion was computer programming in which he was self taught. His innate sense of curiosity enabled him to completely understand the inner working of any computer system. He was highly regarded by his peers at both his work and in the computer programming community. Survived by his wife, Wanda (Wojcik); daughter, Victoria, son, Kyle, both at home; his siblings, Lynn (Roger) Trueman, Tamworth, Ont.; Steven, Bridgewater, Wendy (Roger McKinnon) Williston, Nanaimo, B.C., Sandra (Bruce) Barnes, Navan, Ont.; as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his grandparents, Helen and Alex Williston, Robert and Ada Waye, Camille and Jeanne D’arc VanMarsenille. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth from where a memorial service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday. Reception to follow in the funeral home with burial to take place in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
