HACHEY, JOHN ANTHONY - The death of John Anthony Hachey, loving husband of Barbara Joan Hachey (MacKenzie) occurred at his residence on Wednesday March 12, 2003. Born October 15, 1937 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Anthony J. Hachey and Agnes Crowe. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Besides his wife and mother he is survived by five children, his sons Wayne (Connie), John (Kylee) and Michael (Jennifer); two daughters Ann Marie (Terry) Bawn, and Janet (Mac) Wickens; nine grandchildren Marianne, Tammy, Shawn, Adam, Scott, Megan, Ashley, Christopher and Emma; one sister Mrs. Mary Storey of PEI; two brothers Francis of Spokane, Washington and James of Hampton; several nieces and nephews. He was an avid sports fan of all his children and grandchildren. He spent most of his life as a motor vehicle mechanic working for Pete Farron and Bill Randles until he became disabled and then he spent his time camping with his children and grandchildren, and hanging out at Dooley's with his buddies. Following cremation, visitation will be held at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424), on Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Monday March 17, 2003 at 10:00AM. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to the Palliative Care Unit Saint John Regional Hospital or to the charity of the donor's choice.
