SCAMMELL, MAURICE E. - Maurice E. Scammell of Fredericton, NB passed away peacefully on March 12, 2003 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born in Pinder, NB the son of the late John and Hannah (Morehouse) Scammell. Maurice was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #4 Fredericton, life member of Boy Scouts of Canada and a member of St. Marys Anglican Church. Survived by one son, Greg Scammell of Ottawa, ON, one brother John Scammell of Ottawa, ON, son in law John Johnston of Cornwall, ON, grandson Corey Johnston of Cornwall, ON, granddaughter Stephanie Johnston of Fredericton, NB and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Doris (Woodroffe) Scammell and his daughter Deborah Johnston. Visitation will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton with visiting hours on Thursday, March 13, 2003 from 7- 9 PM and on Friday, March 14, 2003 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The Funeral service will be held from St. Mary's Anglican Church, Saturday March 15, 2003 at 11:00 AM, Rev. Barry Craig officiating. Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery at a later date. Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4 will hold a Legion Tribute at the funeral home Friday at 7 PM.
