COMFORT, ALVIN DONALD "AL" - The death of Alvin Donald Comfort occurred at home on March 20th., he was 82 years old. Born in New Liskard, Ontario, the son of the late George and Margaret Comfort. He was predeceased by one sister and one brother. Mr. Comfort was retired from the Armed Forces, rank of WO1. He served 35 1/2 years in Canada and with the Allied Forces Central Europe. He was a member of Grace Harvest Church and also served with the Christian organization Youth With a Mission for 8 years. Al is survived by his wife, Helen Cain Comfort and five daughters, Donna (Ken Davis), Lynda (Stanley Curran), Sheila (Michel Tessier), Sandra (Jeremy Gainsford) and Andrea Leal; three granddaughters, Angela Davis-Delisle, Corinnea Normandeau, and Anna Gainsford; six grandsons, Stanley Curran, Carl Tessier, Marc Tessier, Matthew Gainsford, Andrew Leal, Ryan Leal; one niece, Gail McNaught; and one nephew, Donald Gray. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506) 634-7424 , there were no visiting hours. The Funeral Service was held at St. James the Less Anglican Church, 1760 Rothesay Rd., Rothesay, NB on March 27th. at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation to World Vision, Diabetes Association, or any charity of the donors choice. Interment was at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
