HERBERT (BERT) WILLIAM KIDSTON
KIDSTON, HERBERT (BERT) WILLIAM - following a lengthy battle with cancer, the death of Bert occurred on March 21, 2003 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. He died peacefully surrounded by his wife and children. Born in Halifax July 19, 1919, a son of Frank and Agnes (Keefe) Kidston. Bert served with the Princess Louis Fusiliers from 1939 - 1945 and saw action in Italy, Germany and France. Following the war he worked with Bolands IGA until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Doris M. (Rodgers), daughter Mrs. Diane M. (Sandy) Robertson of Millidgeville, Saint John, N.B., sons Robert J. (Rosalind Brake), Peter W. (Jean Dempsey), both of Dartmouth; sisters Mrs. Jean (Reg)?Purcell, Mrs. Shirley (the late Cecil) Robertson, Mrs. Joan (Greg) Chisholm all of Halifax; 5 grandsons and?4 great-grandsons; several nephews and nieces, predeceased by his parents and a brother Frank. Arrangements by Mattatall Funeral Home in Dartmouth. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Clements Church on Gaston Road in Dartmouth, Tuesday March 25,?2003 at 2:00 P.M.?Family flowers only please.
