66, Glace Bay It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of Rose McCormick at the Glace Bay General Hospital on Friday, Aug. 1, 2008. Born in Glace Bay, she was a daughter of the late Freeman and Katie (MacAdam) Lawrence. A graduate of St. Michael’s High School and St. Elizabeth Hospital, she was a CNA at St. Elizabeth’s, North Sydney, and at St. Joseph’s, Glace Bay. A devoted wife, mother and sister, Rose is survived by her husband, Harvey; her sons, Jimmy (Ann Michelle), Hamilton, Ont., and Shawn (Kerrie), Cold Lake, Alta.; her daughters, Kathy (Billy) Sampson and Dawn, both of Glace Bay; and the joy of her life — her 11 grandchildren. Rose is also survived by her sisters, Shirley (Edward) Chisholm and Mary (Bruce) Cathcart, both of Glace Bay. Besides her parents, Rose was predeceased by two sisters in infancy. Rose will certainly be missed by her coffee friends at McDonalds. Visitation Monday, Aug. 4, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Aug. 5 at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Rev. Gerald Campbell officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.
