Lucy Lee

Date de décès : 29 juillet 2008

Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. It is with deep sadness and regret that we announce the sudden passing of Lucy Lee in Royal Columbian Hospital, New Westminster, on Tuesday, July 29, 2008. Born in B.C., Lucy spent many years in China before returning to Canada as a young adult. She was a self-made woman, an entrepreneur who managed, owned and led a number of businesses in B.C. and Alberta over the years. Her success was a result of business acumen, coupled with her natural warmth and outgoing nature. Her generous spirit will be remembered by the many patrons who became friends. Poh had many hobbies. She was an avid gardener and had a natural green thumb. An accomplished cook, family and friends were often the recipients of many feasts she hosted. She was always willing to share her talents and her family and friends always appreciated her generosity. She travelled extensively, always eager to see new places and meet new people. When not travelling, she could be found at the centre of social gatherings, often as organizer or hostess. Her greatest joy came from visiting and spending time with family and friends. She recently celebrated the milestone of her 90th birthday at home. She passed through this life extending a kind hand and open heart to everyone she met. Her endless optimism and positive attitude about life created joy and love in all around her. Lucy was predeceased by her longtime companion, Tom Arizono, brothers, Les and George, sister, Dorothy, and her great-grandson, Chase Weber. She is survived by daughter, Loretta Lloyd, Burnaby; loving grandchildren, Troy (Amber) Lloyd, Coquitlam, Kelly (Jaycne) Bischoff, Pincher Creek, Alta., and Chad (Judy) Lloyd, Halifax, N.S.; great-grandchildren, Adam, Burgundie, Justin, Hailee, Shelby, James, Ainsley, and Callie. They loved spending time with their Tai Poh. She is also survived by brothers, Fred, Dan (Kathy), Robert (Fern), and sister, Arlene, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. Lucy lived life to the fullest. She was loved by all and will be deeply missed. May the angels grace her arrival as she graced our lives by her presence.
