78, Ben Eoin It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Rose Marie McGrath, 78, of Ben Eoin, formerly of Kane Street, Sydney. She passed away peacefully on Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her family. Rose Marie was the daughter of the late Raymond and Annie Beatrice (Burgey) Keating. She is survived by her daughter, Rose Anne (Tony) Penney, Ben Eoin; and her son, Raymond (Meredith) McGrath, Baddeck; sisters, Gen Chisholm, Sydney, Charlotte (Lal), Coleman, Baddeck, and Anne (Chris) Tiller, Florida. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer, Kathleen, Alexandra and Joshua, as well as many nieces and nephews. Rose Marie was predeceased by her husband, Johnnie and her brother, Raymond ‘Buddy’ Keating. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Big Pond. Cremation has taken place. There will be visitation with the family at Sydney Memorial Chapel, Wednesday, Aug. 6 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will take place Thursday, Aug. 7 at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Big Pond, with Rev. Joe Gillis officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of units 4B and Palliative Care at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Their kindness, understanding and attention to all our needs were very much appreciated. Memorial donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
