MacLELLAN, HAZEL EVELYNE (BRADSHAW) - August 9, 1913 - May 10, 2003 - The death of Hazel Evelyne (Bradshaw) MacLellan, wife of the late Joseph Michael MacLellan, occurred at her home in St. Martins on May 10, 2003, after a lengthy illness. Born in St. Martins, she was the only daughter of Frank and Bessie (Brown) Bradshaw. She was predeceased by her six brothers; Lawrence, Sterling, James, Gordon, Earl and Llewellyn. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She spent her entire life in the village, working for many years as a Secretary/Companion to her elderly cousin Melita Skillen. She was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Church, St. Martins. She was very active in A.Y.P.A., Guides and as a Sunday School Teacher. She served as an organist for many years and was an active member of the Concerned Citizens Committee of St. Martins. At her kitchen table, she dispensed equal amounts of coffee, homemade biscuits, humor, common sense answers to our problems, love and true friendship to us all. Hazel was an avid and accurate diarist, and her diaries held the answers to a lot of good-natured disputes over the past 50-60 years. Each of our lives were more enriched for having known her. She is survived by her sister-in-law Kathryn Bradshaw, three nephews, Keith (Chris), Bruce, Edward (Carolyn), and two nieces, Valerie DeVito and Beverley Dykeman, three great nephews, Sgt. Brian Dykeman (Norma), John Dykeman (Trish), and Blair Dykeman (Tanya Swan); one great great nephew Drake, and two great great nieces, Ali and Lauren. There will be no visiting at Hazel's request. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Anglican Church. Remembrances to the charities of your choice. Interment in Mosher Hill Cemetery beside her husband, Joe.
