Formerly Sydney Mines With great sadness we announce Greg’s passing — suddenly yet peacefully, surrounded by his family at Victoria Hospital, London, Saturday, July 26, 2008, at the age of 56. Greg lived in London for the past 37 years, most of that time employed by Philips Electronics as shipper/receiver. His passion was gardening and landscaping, at which he truly excelled, as evidenced by the ‘enchanted paradise that he created in his backyard.’ Greg was a truly generous spirit who was always eager to lend a helping hand. He touched many hearts during his time here and for that we are all most grateful. Family came first with Greg and this was so apparent in how he lived his life and how he loved us all. Greg is the beloved husband of Donna Podetz (nee Parsons), 70 Roman Cres., London (formerly of North Sydney); loving father of son, Nick (Doreen Sowinski); daughter, Brenda, and dear grampy of Natasha, Alicia and Nicholas. Forever remembered by brothers, John (Linda) and George (Debbie), Sydney Mines — our annual ‘excursions’ will be greatly missed. Greg was predeceased by his parents, Stephen and Anna (Mills) and brothers, Georgie, Stephen (late Sandra Degaust) and an infant brother. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, relatives (including the entire Parsons family who thought so highly of him) and all those who knew him. Visitation and a funeral mass were held in London with interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Tuesday, July 29.
