STOCKFORD, VIOLET MAY - The death of Violet May (Lawson) Stockford, age 84, of Wickham, occurred at Great Oaks Special Care Home, Friday, May 16, 2003. Violet was the wife of the late Melville J. Stockford and daughter of the late Charles and Ella (Manuel) Lawson. Violet was the beloved mother of eight sons; Robert, Earl and Liz, George and Linda, Dave and Marlene, Mel, Ron and Linda and Gordon, of Wickham and Wayne and Liz, Quispamsis, four daughters; Norma and Wayne Urquhart, Burlington, ON, Shirley and Floyd Cameron, Gagetown, Sharon and John Urquhart, Kars, Ella-Marie and Stan West, St. Clements, ON, twenty-six grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, one brother; Clarence and Dorothy Power-Lawson, sisters-in-law; Doris Lawson and Margaret Lawson, several nieces, nephews and cousins across Canada, USA, England and Australia. Predeceased by five brothers, Jim, Denton, Earl, Arthur and Ernest, two sisters; Francis Dickinson and Blanche Lawson, four grandsons, two granddaughters and one great-grandson. Resting at Sherwood's Funeral Home, (839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, with visiting, Sunday 2 - 8 pm. Funeral service will be held from the Central Wickham Baptist Church, Monday, May 19, 2003 at 3:00 pm, followed by interment in the Wickham Cemetery.
