54, Sydney It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of our dear brother and uncle, Ricky Cooke, Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at his home in Sydney. Born in Sydney, N.S., March 13, 1954, he was the son of the late William Valentine and Ulgisse Cooke. Ricky was a member of Christ Church, George Street, Sydney. Ricky loved gardening and will be remembered for being big hearted. Surviving are his two brothers, Blaire (Cynthia) Cooke, Gary (Brenda) Cooke and their families; sister in-law, Valarie Cooke. Ricky is also survived by his three children, Leon, Christopher and Marie Cooke and a nephew, Billy. Besides his parents, Ricky was predeceased by his brother, William Cooke. Funeral service to celebrate Ricky’s life will be held Friday, Aug. 8 at 2 p.m. at the Pier Community Funeral Home in the All Faith Chapel, 1092 Victoria Rd., with entrance on Church Street, Whitney Pier. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. with funeral service to follow. Interment will take place at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney, following the funeral service.
