53, Englishtown Linda Newton, 53, Black Head Road, Englishtown, died in her sleep at home on Friday, August 8, 2008. Born in Sydney Mines on March 21, 1955, she was the daughter of Isobel (Gibbons) Smith and the late James Young. Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Gordon Newton; her step-daughters, Terri (Chris), Tania (Troy) and Tina (Norman); her step-grandchildren, Aurora, Dustin, Troy, Jacob, Ryan, and Kaylee; her sisters, Irene (Randy) Croft, Margaret “Peggy” (Donald) Phillipo; her brothers, James (Betty) Young and Carter (Celeste) Young. Also surviving is her special brother, Cecil LeBlanc; her best friend, Kathleen McRae; her mother and father-in-law, Una and Con Newton and her brother-in-law, Glen (Francine) Newton. Besides her father, she was predeceased by her step-father, Reg Smith. There will be no visitation or service. Arrangements are under the direction of Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines.
