HELEN AUGUSTA FISH
FISH, HELEN AUGUSTA - The death of Helen Augusta (Cumming) Fish, 103, occurred quietly and peacefully June 9, 2003 at her residence, Royal Court, Riverview N.B. Born in Havelock N.B. March 27, 1900 the eldest daughter of the late Alexander B. and Sophia L. (McKnight) Cumming. Helen received her early education in Havelock, later attending Acadia University, Wolfville, N.S.. Her secretarial skills were exemplary and she was employed for many years in the dental office of her uncle , Dr. Albert McKnight, Boston Mass. In later life she resided in Rockland , Maine where she and her husband Fred owned a guest home and greenhouse (Harbor Head Gardens). Helen had many interests especially caring for her plants. She also found joy in reading, travelling and music, learning to play the piano at a young age. Helen has resided in Moncton since the early 1980's and was an adherent of St. John's United Church. Helen was loved and cherished by her family and friends. She will be forever remembered and deeply missed. She is survived by her loving brother Arthur A. Cumming (Helen) of Moncton, N.B., nephews David Cumming (Judy), Bathurst, N.B., Paul Cumming, Florida, Bruce Cumming, Saint John, N.B.; nieces Carolyn (Chiasson) Agnew and Christy (Cumming) Everett, both of Dartmouth, N.S., several great nieces, nephews, cousins, one great great nephew, Alexander Cumming, Saint John N.B. She was predeceased by first husband George MacLeod and second husband Frederick (Fred) Fish, brothers Warren and Leon, sister Rosamond (Roz) Chiasson. There will be a Graveside Service Saturday June 14 at 11 A.M. at Greenhill Cemetery, Havelock. No visiting by request.
