After a much enjoyed life, the unexpected death of Robert ‘Bob’ Bruce Grant of Halifax, N.S., and formerly of Sussex Corner, N.B., occurred at his residence on Aug. 16, 2008. Throughout his life he enjoyed volunteering as a fireman, at the Lions Club and the Sackville legion. Bob was an avid baseball fan, cribbage and domino player as his friends past and present can attest. He was born at Canning, N.S. in 1926, the only child of the late Horace and Dorothy (Hiltz) Grant and was the husband of the late Lois (Craft) Grant who passed away in July of 2007. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Covey and husband Larry; son, Doug Grant, both of Lower Sackville, N.S.; two grandsons, Matthew Grant and Jason Cannon. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Aug. 21 at Trinity Anglican Church, Sussex, N.B., at 11 a.m. with the Venerable David Barrett officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Saint John, N.B. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to the Trinity Anglican Church Entranceway Project, 853 Main St., Sussex, N.B., E4E 2M9.
