WALTER ARTHUR APPLEBY
APPLEBY, WALTER ARTHUR - The death of Walter A. Appleby of Agape Home, Bloomfield, occurred July 18, 2003 at the Sussex Health Centre.?Born at Lawfield, Queens Co. on August 31, 1910 he was the youngest son of the late Edward and Lillian (Hersey) Appleby. He was married to the late Mildred G. Kennedy. Walter was the last surviving member of his family.?He spent his working life in the woods of Southern New Brunswick in the lumbering business. Walter enjoyed the woods so much he kept on hunting while into his 80's and just sold his last hunting camp about three years ago. He is survived by four sons Arthur, Gordon, Malcolm, all of the Fredericton area and Ronald of Saint John; one daughter Lillian of the Fredericton area; one sister-in-law Clara Appleby of Sydney Mines, N.S.; several nieces and nephews.?Besides his parents he was predeceased by three brothers George, Arthur and Thomas; and six sisters Jane Appleby, Eva Barton, Margaret Hitchman, Bertha Rice, Minnie Appleby and Jennie Beman. Resting at Reid's Funeral Home (832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton. The funeral will be held Monday at Reids Funeral Home Chapel with service at 10:00 am.?Interment in Upper Gagetown Cemetery.
