80, Glace Bay It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Evelyn (Connors) MacDonald peacefully at home on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008. Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, she was born in Glace Bay and was the daughter of the late George and Lillian (Jessome) Connors. Evelyn resided with her children on Wood Street for many years before moving to the MacDonald’s Lane Complex, Glace Bay. She will be lovingly missed by her sons, James, Manitoba, Michael, Nova Scotia; daughters, Sharon, New Brunswick, and Lillian, Ontario. Evelyn is also survived by four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Audrey Kennedy, Sanda Locke, Lola Duckworth and one brother, Terry Connors. She was predeceased by her daughter, Paulette and three sisters, Mary MacDonald, Kay MacIntyre and Patricia Keylor. Evelyn cherished every moment with family and friends and really enjoyed “fighting” a good game of cards. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday morning, Aug. 30, 2008, at the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Fr. Gerald Campbell officiating. Interment to follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
