Nov. 18, 1976-Aug. 27, 2008 St. Catharines/Sydney Mines It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden and tragic death of our son, stepson, father, companion, nephew, cousin and friend, Nicholas Walter Withers Born in North Sydney, he was the son of John Withers and Mary (MacDonald) Fraser. He was a member of the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental, and Reinforcing Iron Workers; Local 721, Ontario. Nicholas leaves behind his mother and stepfather, Mary and Larry Fraser; his beloved sister, Tiffany; his partner, Ginny Cox; baby girl, Carys, and Hunter, Dan and Betty Cox; brother-in-law, Tony (Iris); his father, John and partner Denise; grandfather, Walter (Lidya); his half-sister, Sasha; aunts, Vickie (Art), Marleen (Joe), Elsie, Marjorie (Leo), Jane, Alounda, and Angela (Jim) and uncles, John (Kelly), Bob (Mia), Walter (Lynn), Dan (Marg), Peter (Heather), Gerard (Kim), Don (Shirley), Allan (Nancy), Paul (Francis) and Michael (Theresa). He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins. Nicholas was predeceased by grandparents, Bob and Mae MacDonald, grandmother, Antionette, aunt, Nora and uncles, Frank, Paul, and Thomas. Visitation for Nicholas will be in the J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, on Tuesday, Sept. 2, from 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church with Fr. Hughie MacNeil officiating.
