SMITH, F. IRENE - The death of F. Irene Smith of Long Reach, widow of Stanley "Tick" Smith occurred September 2, 2003 at her residence. She was born at South Brookfield, N.S., daughter of the late Gay and Nora (Wile) Burhoe.??Irene was a member of St. James Church, Long Reach and enjoyed quilting with the ladies.?She also loved knitting and spending time in her flower gardens. She is survived by four daughters June Miller (Ron) of Whitehead, Donna Jones (Murray) of Gondola Point, Jane Ross of Saint John, Patsy Lavigne (David) of N.S.; two sons Fred (Pam) and Gordon (Nancy) of Long Reach; two sisters Emily Walsh and Edith Mouradian of Saint John; 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two daughters, Lillian and Joan; two sisters Abbie Pearson and Jean (Ganong) Brown; and four brothers Frank, Lyman, Knight and Rory Burhoe. There is no visiting by request of the family. The funeral will be held Saturday, 10:30am at St. James Church, Long Reach with Rev. Donald Trivett officiating. ?Interment in the adjoining cemetery.
