EARLE DOUGLAS CALDER

CALDER, EARLE DOUGLAS - Peacefully, at his residence in Fairhaven, Deer Island, NB, on September 5, 2003, Mr. Earle Douglas Calder, husband of Sarah M. (Parks) Calder of Fairhaven, NB. Born in Deer Island, NB on July 25, 1918, he was a son of the late Herbert and Minerva (Stover) Calder. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived, besides his wife, by two daughters, Sharon (Michael) Hartford of Lord's Cove, Jacqueline (Brian) Mitchell of Fairhaven; one son, Douglas of Fairhaven; three grandchildren, Rev. Gordon Weatherby of Fredericton, NB, Jill (Norman) Conley of Fairhaven, NB, Joseph (Mandy) Mitchell of Lords Cove; five great-grandchildren, Robert, Stephen, and Tim Weatherby, Cameron Conley, and Mallory Mitchell; two sisters, Kathryn McNeill, and Barbara McConkey (Sam), both of St. Stephen; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by one granddaughter, Sarah Jane Weatherby; three brothers, Dyas, Charles and Carol. Earle spent most of his life as a fisherman, working for H. W. Welch and Connors Bros. Ltd. He was a member of the Fairhaven United Baptist Church. By request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 8th at 2 pm at the Fairhaven Baptist Church, followed by interment in the Fairhaven Community Cemetery at Calder's Head. In Earle's memory, donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
