DAWN LORRAINE KEAN
KEAN, DAWN LORRAINE - It is with deep sadness that the family announces the unexpected death of Dawn Lorraine (Maguire) Kean of Kean Road, Saint John, NB. The loving wife of Walter E. Kean for 42 years, she passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, September 9, 2003. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Helen (Baird) Maguire of Lorneville, NB. Dawn was a loving and caring mother to four sons; Scott (Jill) of Victoria, BC., Kent (Terri) of Saint John, NB., Bill (Sue) of Rothesay, NB and Chris (Liane) of Moncton, NB. She was a very proud and much loved grandmother of Nicholas and Alexander; Sam, Thomas and Anna; Sara and Gregory; Mitchell and Madalynn. She is also survived by, one sister, Linda Smith and one brother, John (Bonnie) Maguire, both of Lorneville, as well as, several nieces and nephews. By being a good friend, Dawn was blessed with a great number of friends who will be saddened to learn of her passing. Dawn was employed with the CPR and spent a number of years in Montreal. She was later employed with the Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service from where she retired. She was a member of Carleton-Kirk United Church, a member of the choir and formerly a member and organist of the Lorneville United Church. Dawn was an avid traveller and a member of "Timestoppers". She was a curler and a member of Provincial Championship teams and was also a bowler. She most recently enjoyed the fellowship of the card parties at the Lorneville Community Center. Resting at CASTLE "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John, NB (634-1701) with visitation Friday and Saturday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held Sunday September 14 at 2:30pm at St. Mark's United Church. Interment will follow in Lorneville United Cemetery "Sea View". Donations in Dawn's memory may be made to the Lorneville United Church, Carleton-Kirk United Church or the charity of donor's choice.
