ALDEN TAYLOR, "BEA" - It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Beatrice "Bea" Rita (nee Cunningham) Alden Taylor of Dickie Mountain, wife of Jim Taylor, Vancouver, which occurred peacefully September 15, 2003 at the Sussex Health Centre. Bea was born at Newcastle on June 22, 1924, the youngest daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Ann (Vienneau) Cunningham. She was the last member of her immediate family. Bea lived in Nauwigewauk and various parts of B.C. until her return in 1999 to reside with her daughter on Dickie Mountain. She enjoyed bowling, darts, golf, pool and especially playing cards with her grandchildren. She was a member of Hampton Seniors Resource Centre. Beloved mother of Murray Alden (Mary Gillespie), Nauwigewauk, Winnie McKnight (Gordon), Dickie Mountain, Richard Alden (Nancy), St. Thomas, ON and Jane Bellamy (Blaine), Hampton. Cherished grandmother of Murray and Angela McKnight, Dartmouth, Josh, Ben, and Meghan Alden, Hampton, Silas and Nathaniel Bellamy, Hampton, daughter in law Faye Alden (Gene Munroe), Hampton, brother in law John Collins, NY and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Ronald Alden in 1985, infant daughter Mary Kathleen in 1949, four sisters Ida "Connie" Collins, Plattsburg, NY, Mona Bernard, Newcastle, Sally Russell, Nauwigewauk, Elinore Mancini Faithful, Greenfield Park, QC and two half brothers Clyde and George Holmes. Visitation will be held at Reid's Funeral Home (832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton on Wednesday 2-4pm and 6-9pm. The funeral will be held Thursday at St. Alphonsus Church, Hampton with funeral mass at 10:00am. The honourary pallbearers are grandchildren Murray, Josh, Ben, Silas, Nathaniel, Angie and Meghan. Interment in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Memorials to Canadian Cancer Society or Sussex Health Centre Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated by the family.
