SHERWOOD, HELEN A. M. - The death of Helen A. M. Sherwood of Bayview, wife of Stanley F. Sherwood occurred September 15, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born at St. Martins, daughter of the late Graydon and Dora (Brown) Gillcrist. Helen was a member of L.O.B.A. #1190, St. Martins Senior Citizens, was an avid bingo player and she enjoyed cooking. Surviving besides her by husband are two daughters Marion Jamieson, Saint John, Valerie Stuart (Moyle), St. Martins; three sons Lloyd Sherwood (Donna), St. Martins, Edward Sherwood (Daisy), St. Martins, Larry Sherwood (Norma), Bains Corner; four sisters Jessie Bennett (Gregory), St. Martins, Audrey Stewart, Elgin, Mildred Dupere (Albert), Willow Grove, Dorothy Clayton (Eugene), St. Martins; four brothers Murray Gillcrist (Leona), Saint John, Ward Gillcrist (Shirley), St. Martins, Lawrence Gillcrist (Alma), St. Martins, William Gillcrist of Saint John; 10 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Roy, Harvey, Clayton and Douglas. Resting at First St. Martins United Baptist Church with visiting 2-4pm & 7-9pm Wednesday. The funeral will be held Thursday, 2:00pm, at First St. Martins United Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Nicolle officiating. Interment in St. Martins Community Cemetery. Memorials to N.B.
