KANE, MRS. MARY - The death of Mrs. Mary Kane, of Saint John, occurred on Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born March 11, 1923 in Rowena, NB she was the daughter of the late Ben and Grace (Boone) DeWitt. She is survived by her loving children Joe (Ellie) of Johnville, Joan McGrattan (Garey Shea) of Saint John, Bob (Dawn) of Rothesay, Terry (Emily) of Deer Lake, NL, Jim (Carolyn) of Red Deer, AB, and Sharon Kirkpatrick (Wayne Duplessis) of Saint John; brothers Walton and James; sister Bessie; 18 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Joseph Kane, who passed away September 11, 1973; brothers Carl, David and Earle; sisters Laura and Margaret. Mary loved spending time with her family, cooking huge roast beef dinners, playing cards, quilting, knitting, walking, playing scrabble and doing crossword puzzles. A Private family service was held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday September 19, 2003 with Rev. Peter Campion officiating. The pallbearers were Sharon Kirkpatrick, Bob Kane, Michael Kane, Ryan Kane, Joe Gorey and Scott Buckley. Interment took place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
