Albro Lauchlin Miles

Ontario Albro passed away at home on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008. Albro had a heart of gold. There was nothing he loved more than spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was born and raise on Cape Breton Island, N.S., and moved to Sarnia in 1957, where he worked as a longshoreman. In 1973 he started working for the City of Sarnia in the parks and recreation department, where he spent the greater part of his career working in the arenas. He retired from the city in 1992. He was a former associate member of the Royal Canadian Airforce Association and an avid sports enthusiast. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine ‘Gerry’ (Chiasson); son, Brian and his wife Crystal; daughter, Marlene (Kerwin) and her husband, David; grandchildren, Charlie Kerwin, Adelynn, Elliot and Leeland Belfour; brother, Jack and his wife Betty; niece, Karen (Goodman) and nephew, John. Predeceased by his parents, Albro and Rhodena Miles and nephew, Tommy Miles. A memorials service was held Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, at the D.J. Robb Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m. Memorial donations to the Terry Fox Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
