WOODS, MADELEINE - At the Grand Falls General Hospital, September 28, 2003, Mrs. Madeleine Woods of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 80 years. She was the wife of the late Roy Woods. Born at Grand Falls in 1923, she was a daughter of the late Jean-Baptiste and Alexina (Belanger) Lavoie. Madeleine was very active in her community, having been involved in volunteer work at the local hospital, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Mental Health Association and Special Olympics. She also enjoyed curling and golf. She is survived by her son, Gregoire (Patsy) of Oromocto, daughter Suzanne of Grand Falls, grandson, Aarron, one brother, Hubert Lavoie (Louise) of Hawkesbury, Ontario, two sisters, Lorraine Jensen of Drummond and Annette Dewolfe of Montreal, as well as nieces and nephews. Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Her funeral will be held Thursday, October 2nd at 11 a.m. from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls, with interment in the Assumption Cemetery.
