PROPHET, MABEL ELLEN - The death of Mrs. Mabel Ellen Prophet, wife of the late James Prophet, occurred on Wednesday October 1, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, with her loving family at her side. Born January 26, 1919 in Ottawa Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Herbert and Christina (McMillan) Corneil. Mabel had lived most of her life in Ontario, working in Home Care for several years, and also working in and admiring her gardens. She moved to Dipper Harbour six years ago, where she found peace and contentment with many family and friends. She is survived by her loving children Bobby of Toronto, Glenn (Adeline) of Orleans, Ontario, James (Francine) of Aylmer, PQ, Dwight (Cindy) of Orleans, Ontario, Shirley Klassann (Arnold) of Holland, Amsterdam, Carol Segec of Dipper Harbour, and Marilyn Whitam (Max) of Ottawa; one sister Verna Coupe (Bob) of Richmond, Ontario; 20 grandchildren; several great and great great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by two sons Billy and Tommy Prophet; daughter Christina Prophet; brothers Donnie Corneil and Earl Corneil; and son in law Robert Segec. A memorial service will be held from St. Brendan's Church, Dipper Harbour, on Saturday October 4, 2003 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Brendan's Cemetery. The family would appreciate donations made to the Palliative Care Unit, Saint John Regional Hospital or to the charity of the donor's choice.
