PINEO, EDNA G. (GAVEL)(LANGILLE) - The death of Edna Gardner (Gavel) (Langille) Pineo of Saint John occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on October 8, 2003. Edna was born May 11, 1918 in Richfield Digby County NS and was the wife of the late John (Jack) S. Pineo. Mum attended Normal School in Truro NS followed by 41 years of teaching in Hardwood Lands, West Jedore, Cambridge, and Lower Sackville NS and Dennis Morris Memorial in Saint. John NB. She worked for several years after retirement from teaching in the retail sector. Mum was an avid reader, keen on history and always interested in the Kindness Club in Saint John. She is survived by sons Quentin (Sherry) Langille of Sussex, Jefrey (Susan) Pineo of Saint John, Micheal (Susan) Pineo of NS, daughter Deborah Hillier of St. George, and foster children Denise and Winston Tyler. She is also survived by sisters, Helen (Jack) Egan, Lorna (Andre) Goyer, Miriam (Clair) Somers, Joyce (Roy) Howie, Marilyn (Keith), Harding. Brothers Enos (Anne) and Clarence (Jean) all of NS, and James (Marlene) of Ont. Grandchildren, Nathan, Brandon, and Morgan Langille, Scott and Jillian Pineo, Phillip Pineo and David Hillier and great granddaughter Emma Rose Langille. Pre deceased by sisters Elsie and Marguerite, and brothers Edward and Glenn. At Mum's request she will be cremated, there will be no visitation or memorial service.
