BILL McGINNIS

McGINNIS, BILL - William (Bill) McGinnis of Mississauga, formerly of Saint John, N.B., passed away on Oct. 8, 2003, at Credit Valley Hospital. Born June 27, 1928, he was the son of the late Henry McGinnis and his late wife, the former Helen McDonald. He was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Wanda (nee) MacPherson of Fredericton, N.B.; and his son Michael. He was the loved father of Paul (Joanne), Peter (Ida), Catherine (Brian), Christine (Bill) and Maureen (Neil); and the dear grandpa of Michael, Patrick, George, John, Roland, Colin and Rose. He is also survived by one sister, Helen and one brother, Greg, both of Saint John; and will be fondly remembered by friends as well as kind neighbours on Freeport Drive. Bill was an exceptional artistic talent who loved to paint the dramatic landscape of Lake Superior. He was an avid golfer and enthusiastic cook. For 25 years, Bill was an employee of the Noxema Company in Toronto. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Burlington, officiated by Father Robert Hetu. Interment of ashes in Holy Cross Cemetery, Saint John. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or VON. Arrangements entrusted to Smith's Funeral Homes, Burlington, (905) 632-3333.
