Fredericton, N.B. The passing of Frances ‘Nokie’ Dawson of Fredericton, N.B., wife of Aubrey Dawson, occurred on Sept. 9, 2008, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 21, 1939, in Sydney, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Bessie (MacNeil) Darrow. Prior to her retirement she was a beloved and well respected school teacher with the Greater Sydney School Board. In addition to her husband, Nokie is survived by her daughter, Natalie Terese (Brian) of Fredericton, N.B.; grandchildren, Regan and Ailidh; sisters, Alice Hickey (Buck) of North Sydney, Helen MacIsaac of Halifax, Althea Moss (Leo) and Lorraine Foster (Victor), both of Sydney and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Nokie was predeceased by her brother, Maurice Darrow. Family will receive friends at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Dr., Fredericton, N.B. on Thursday, Sept. 11 from 7-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic on Friday, Sept. 12 at 12 p.m. with Fr.
