ROBERT (BOB) PICARD

PICARD, ROBERT (BOB) - 73, Moncton, passed away Tuesday November 18th 2003 surrounded by his family. During the past months he struggled courageously against the progression of cancer, with grace and dignity. His strength will echo in the hearts of those who witnessed his courage during his illness. Born in Lac-Baker, NB, he was the son of the late Alphonse Picard and Marthe Albert. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Martine (Long), his son Jacques (Debbie) (Shediac); daughters Micheline (Shediac); Mona (Wayne) Bradley (Dartmouth); Carole (Mark) Hildisheim (Grand Bay); grand-children Jill & Kurtis Bradley and Amanda & Marcos Hildisheim, one sister Betty Shillington (Half Moon Bay, CA) several nieces and one nephew. He is predeceased by his brother Albert, sisters Germaine Murray and Laurette Picard. Bob retired from the CNR in 1987 after 38 years of service as an operator and train dispatcher. He was a member of the CN Pensioners Association and served as Vice-President for ten years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Bob loved his music, classical and jazz and enjoyed concerts at the Capitol. Cremation has taken place. Memorial mass will be celebrated at Christ the King Church, Moncton, Friday November 21st at 11 am. With a reception to follow in the Club D'Age D'Or Christ De Roi. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.
