FINNAN, "BUD" LAWRENCE JOSEPH - The death of Bud Finnan of Burton, NB occurred at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Wednesday, November 19th, 2003. Born in Souris, PEI, he was the son of the late Albert and Mary (Johnson) Finnan and husband of Dorothy (MacDonald) Finnan. Bud was a member of the Royal Canadian Army Service Corp (R.C.A.S.C.) from 1951 until 1976. In 1975 he decided to venture into his own businesses, being the owner/operator of Finnan's Garage and Burton Equipment Rentals and Trucking until the present time. Bud was also a member of the Korean Veterans Association, the Southern Truckers Association and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #93. Survived by his wife, Dorothy; sons, Albert Finnan of Burton, NB and his children, Josh, Kate, Abram and Marian, Gerard Finnan of Montreal, PQ, Andy Finnan (Carole) of Burton, NB and their children, Lindsey, Jake and Jason and Ken Finnan (Sylvia) of Burton, NB and their children, Carl, Corey and Abbi; daughters, Claire Shepard (Roger) of Colorado, USA and their children, Darrel, Mary and Kristal, Lillian King (Ron) of Kingston, ON and their children, Greg, Laura and Adam, Liz Finnan of Kingston, ON and her daughter, Courtney and Anne Finnan (Pierre Chiasson) of Oromocto, NB and their children, Alex and Matthew. Also survived by his brother, Peter Finnan; sisters, Ruth Panneton, Theresa Perry and Evelyn Richard; uncle, Pius Finnan and his aunt, Olive Gallant. Predeceased by his parents; brother, Pius Finnan; sister, Mary Stevens and daughter-in-law, Brenda (White) Finnan. Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Friday, November 21st, 2003 from 1-5 and 7-9 pm with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #93 holding a tribute service at 7 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Saturday, November 22nd, 2003 at 11:00 am. Rev. Ken Weir as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Albert Finnan, Andy Finnan, Gerard Finnan, Ken Finnan, Darrel Shepard, Carl Finnan, Josh Finnan, Pierre Chiasson and Ron King. Honorary pallbearers will be Wilf Perry, Theresa Perry, Evelyn Richard, Peter Finnan, Peter MacLean and Jim Burton.
