KIM LAVERGNE
LAVERGNE, KIM - At home, Sunday, November 23, 2003, in the company of her family, Deborah Kim Lavergne of New Hamburg, Ontario at the age of 47. Kim was born December 15, 1955, in Saint John, New Brunswick, the daughter of the late Jeannette V. (Davidson) and S. Bruce Fullerton. Kim is survived by her husband, André (married June 9, 1979), and their children, Ruth and John; her sister and family, Lynne and Peter Murphy, Ryan and Jennifer of Saint John, NB; her aunt, Enid Craft (? Fred) of Amherst, NS; her uncle, Roland Blenkhorn (? Vivian) of Saint John, NB; her uncle and aunt, Eric and Gloria Fullerton of Cornwall, PEI; her cousins Peg and Kent Tingley of Port Elgin, NB; cousins David Fullerton, Glen Fullerton and Beverley Lewis of PEI; cousin Robin Fullerton of North Carolina; cousins Linda Balsor, Gary Balsor, Bobby Balsor, Trudy Spinney and Judy Ogilvie and their families of Aylesford and area, NS. Kim is further survived by her three brothers-in-law and their families: Christian Lavergne and Ann Fearon, Emily and Adam of Halifax, NS; Charles Lavergne and Cindy New of Montreal, PQ; and Martin Lavergne of Montreal, PQ. Kim was a graduate of Carleton University (economics and political science) and the University of Toronto (law). She was called to the bar in the spring of 1981. She practiced law -- first as sole practitioner in Cambridge and then with continuing firm of Giesbrecht, Griffin and Funk of Kitchener and New Hamburg. Kim served on the board of Lutherwood, Waterloo. She helped establish and nurture the New Hamburg Community Day Care Centre. She taught Sunday School and served as an assisting minister in the worship of her congregation. Kim's family will receive friends at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, on Tuesday, November 25, from 7-9 pm and on Wednesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Transfer will be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 23 Church St., New Hamburg, at noon Thursday November 27, 2003 for the funeral at 2:00 pm, Pastors Nadine Nicholds and James Brown, presiding. Burial to follow in the Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church (music) or the Wilmot Family Resource Centre (youth programs).
