65, Glace Bay It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Nema Kathleen McInnis on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Glace Bay, Nema was the daughter of the late Alexander and Dorthea (Stockley) Campbell. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Church, Glace Bay. Nema was a former employee of Seaview Manor, Glace Bay where she made many friends with co-workers and residents alike. She will always be remembered for her passion for gardening, ceramics and her superb culinary skills. But mostly, Nema will be remembered for her compassionate nature. She never missed an opportunity to help family or friends in need. Nema is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Dannie; one daughter, Michele LeBlanc, Glace Bay; three sons, Shaun, Ottawa, Craig, Glace Bay, and Trevor (Rose), Oromocto, N.B. Also surviving are Nema’s four grandchildren whom she treasured dearly, Jordan, Avery, Shelby and Eric, and siblings, Gladys Roberts, Waterloo, Sandy Close, Glace Bay, Mae Gatineau, Montreal, Judy McInnis, Glace Bay and her brother, Eric, Pictou. Nema was predeceased by three sisters, Bertha, Anne, Minnie, one brother, Jack and a son-in-law Allan LeBlanc. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday, Sept. 23 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. The funeral mass officiated by Rev. Conrad Edwards is Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony’s Church followed by interment in the parish cemetery. Fellowship to be held in the parish hall. As an expression of sympathy for Nema, donations in her memory may be made to Palliative Care or the Canadian Cancer Society. I don’t understand why when I needed you most you would leave me. The Lord replied, “My precious child, I love you and I would never leave you! During your times of trial and suffering when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.”
