MAYNES, MARGARET L. - The death of Mrs. Margaret L. (McGrattan) Maynes, occurred at St. Joseph's Hospital, Saint John, NB, on Tuesday, December 23, 2003. Born in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Katherine (Marshall) McGrattan. Mrs. Maynes was a lifelong resident of this city and was a parishioner of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and St. John the Baptist Church. She was employed with the Admiral Beatty Hotel and, for many years, with Roxie's. She was predeceased by her husband, Francis (Frank) Maynes and son Barry, as well as sisters; twin Mary, Kay, Frances and brothers; Gerald, Arthur and Paul and special son in law, Patrick McNulty. She is survived by four daughters; Ann McNulty, Saint John, NB, Joan Maynes, Ottawa, Ont., Susan (Leonard Northover) Maynes, Pickering, Ont., two sons; Dr. Douglas (Jane) Maynes, Halifax, NS, John-David Maynes, Toronto, Ont. Mrs. Maynes is also survived by grandchildren; Maureen, Elizabeth and Michael Maynes, Kristine Klassen-Johnson, Jeff and David Klassen, Mark Bailey, Katheleen and Sean Maynes-Northover, great-grandson, David Johnson as well as several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424) with visiting on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Monday, December 29, 2003 at 12:00 Noon, followed by interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
