SMITH, EVELYN M. - The death of Evelyn "Grammie" Mary (Keirstead) Smith, wife of the late Eules Bailey Smith, occurred at the Sussex Health Centre on Friday December 26, 2003. Born on October 12, 1912 at Collina, she lived most of her life in the Lower Millstream area. She was the daughter of the late Hartley and Sarah Mae (Roberts) Keirstead. She was a member of the Calvary Pentecostal Church, Sussex since 1973. She was a gifted seamstress and an avid quilt maker. She is survived by her children Mary (Gordon) Ross of Pearsonville, Mabel (Allen) Forgrave of Lower Millstream, Ashley (Grace) Smith of Plaster Rock, Hazel (Kenneth) Brown of Collina, Evelyn (Nelson) Forgrave of Belleisle, Raymond (Grace) Smith of Sussex and her daughter-in-law Lorna Smith of Apohaqui, thirty-four grandchildren, sixty-eight great grandchildren and twenty-three great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters Merle Smith of Salisbury and Florence Keirstead of Sussex, and brother Merritt (Alma) Keirstead of Riverview. She was predeceased by four sons, Eules, Harry and two infants, as well as two brothers Charles and Edmund, sister Grace and two grandchildren Melvin Forgrave and Elsie Smith and three great grandchildren Jessica, Victoria and Katie Smith. Arrangements are in the care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133). The funeral service will be held from Calvary Pentecostal Church, St. George Street, Sussex on Monday December 29, 2003 at 2:00 pm. Reverend Troy Campbell officiating. Interment will take place at Lester Cemetery, Lower Millstream.
