CHAPPEL, JOAN ARLEEN - The death of Joan A. (Russell) Chappel, of Smythe St. Saint John, NB, companion of William Roberts, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, January 04, 2004.Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Ida (Sabean) Russell. An active member of Main St. Baptist Church, Joan was a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Martha Spragg Missionary Group. She kept busy with many endeavors including her Wednesday morning Bowling League, Branch #64 of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Seagulls Seniors' Group.Along with her companion Bill, Joan will be sadly missed by her sons; Larry D. (Brenda) Chappel, Saint John, NB and Lloyd W. (Marlene) Chappel, Grand Bay-Westfield, NB as well as her brothers: Stephen, Earl, Brian, David, and Wayne Russell and sisters: Flora Bickford, Rita Keith and Connie Currie her grandchildren: Matthew, Shaun, Justin and Craig Chappel and several nieces and nephews including eight brothers: William, Edward, Ernie, Watson, Frank, Ernest, and Lawrence Russell and Floyd Lewis, and one sister, Winnie Roberts. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, with visiting on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and ?7-9 p.m. The funeral will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Wednesday, January 7, 2004, at 11:00 a.m..
