ERVINE ARTHUR MOWBRAY
MOWBRAY, ERVINE ARTHUR - Ervine Arthur Mowbray, age 77, of Perth-Andover and Fort Fairfield, ME died at home unexpectedly on January 15, 2004. He was born on May 21, 1926, the son of the late Forest C. and Alexanderina (Stewart) Mowbray. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law Stephen W. and Bonnie Sue Mowbray, grandchildren Melanie Olivia and Joshua Stephen Mowbray, three brother and sisters-in-law Lewis and Sylvia (Browning) Little, Winston and Linda Browning, Melvin and Sandra Browing and Elizabeth Mowbray, several nieces and nephews, special friends Graydon DeMerchant, Muriel Stone and Donna Cullins. Besides his parents he is predeceased by his wife Gloria (Browning) Mowbray in 1984, three brothers, Stewart, Lawrence and Archie Mowbray, one sister Margaret (Smith) Mowbray and one brother-in-law Kenneth Browning. Ervine married Gloria on June 27, 1959 at the family homestead in Upper Kintore. He moved his family to the United States in 1963 where he was employed as a welder for the Sugar Beet Plant in Easton, maintenance repairman at the Potato Service Plant in Presque Isle, a Contractor for A.C.A.P. local farmers and a caretaker for the Riverside Cemetery in Fort Fairfield. He was involved in building the Fort Fairfield Blockhouse. He operated his own Laundromat Business in his home in Fort Fairfield. He and Gloria attended the Baptist Church in Fort Fairfield and when he moved back to N.B. he attended the Baptist Church in Upper Kintore. Ervine remained in the United States until 1990 when he moved back to the old homestead to care for his ailing sister Margaret. He was an avid musician, playing the fiddle and guitar. He loved to dance and was admired for his dancing ability. He enjoyed attending the Wednesday Night Fiddlers, local dance halls and spending time with family and friends. Resting at White's Funeral Home with visiting hours on Saturday, January 17, 2004 from 1 - 3 p.m. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, January 17 at 3 p.m. from White's Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Andrew Matthews officiating. Interment in the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield, ME at a later date. Memorial donations to the donor's choice would be appreciated. Arrangements by WHITE'S FUNERAL HOME, Perth-Andover, N.B.
