SMITH, EARLE F. - Quietly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday January 22, 2004 at the age of 78, Earle Franklin Smith of Saint John West, husband of Marion (Love) Smith. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Robert W. and Sarah Jane (Maguire) Smith. Earle served overseas with the Royal Canadian Navy and the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was employed with the C.P.R. as a trucker for many years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #2. Surviving in addition to his wife Marion are one daughter Kathleen Matthews and her husband Jim of Dartmouth, N.S., two brothers Maurice and his wife Terry of Rothesay, Lloyd and his wife Germaine of Quispamsis, two sisters Doreen Porter of N.S., Elsie Lawson of Quispamsis, one granddaughter Sara Jane Matthews of Dartmouth, sisters-in-law Marguerite Bland and her husband Lewis, Lillian Love, brother-in-law Stewart Love and his wife Doreen, several nieces and nephews and many special friends. Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. (634-1701). The funeral service will be held at "Fallsview" Chapel on Monday January 26, 2004 at 1 p.m. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Visiting at "Fallsview" on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Donations to the Kidney Foundation or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
