BENSON, HARVEY M. - At the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday February 3, 2004, Harvey Malcolm Benson, 90, of Saint John, husband of Thelma (Ingersoll) Benson. Born in Seal Cove, Grand Manan, he was a son of the late Leavitt and Marguerite (Harvey) Benson. He had worked for 40 years as a Lighthouse Keeper and Technician with the Federal Department of Transportation and had been retired for 28 years. He attended Hillcrest Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife Thelma is one son; Cameron Benson of Saint John, two brothers; Raye Benson of Grand Manan and Laurence and his wife Geraldine Benson of Grand Manan, one sister; Leah Patterson of Grand Manan, three grandchildren; Duane and his wife Wanda Benson of Saint John, Shaun and his wife Shelley Benson of Moncton and Michelle Benson of Hamilton Ont., six great grandchildren; Amber, Kyle, Lauren, Brooke, Shayla, and Maxwell Benson, one niece; Edith Cook and one nephew; William Benson. He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Jeanette Benson. Resting at CASTLE "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John West (634-1701). Funeral Service will be held at the "Fallsview" Chapel, Friday 1 pm, February 6, 2004. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Visiting at "Fallsview" on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Donations may be made to either Hillcrest Baptist Church or the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation.
