MRS. CONNIE (MURCHIE) GODIN

GODIN, MRS. CONNIE (MURCHIE) - Mrs. Connie Godin (Murchie), wife of Ken Godin, of Lorne, N.B. passed away Thursday February 19, 2004 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 60. A native of Doyleville, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Agnes (Lapointe) Murchie. She was a homemaker, extremely active in her community and as a member of St. Maria Goretti Parish she participated in all the church activities. She was a 25 year volunteer for the Canadian Cancer Society. She will always be remembered for her rendition of "These Boots Were Made For Walking." She is survived by her husband Ken of Lorne, two daughters Debbie McKinley (James) Ottawa, Lisa Kane (Danny) Miramichi, three sons Bryan of Florida, Marc (Cindy) Barrie Ont., and Dannie of Fredericton. She also was survived by 11 Grandchildren, two sisters Cora Murchie of Doyleville, Valerie Hickey of Nash Creek and one brother Ray Murchie (Mary Stella) of Doyleville. She was predeceased by an infant sister Dawn and an infant brother Donald. Her funeral service was held Monday, February 23, 2004 at 11am. from the St. Maria Gordetti Church with Father Comeau officiating. Visitation was held at the Lorne Funeral Parlour. Pallbearers were Ray Godin, Leigh Murchie, David Lapointe, Ben Doucet, Maurice Godin, and Desmond Godin. Honorary Pallbearers were her Belles Soeurs- Antoinette Godin, Adeline Lapointe, Simmone Rosengren, Sheila Doucet, Adrienne Fradet, Rhonda Godin. Her sister in law Lisa Godin sang "How Great Thou Art." Her granddaughter Candace Martin gave the Eulogy and her sister in law Simmone Rosengren read a poem "Your dash: and How You Live It." Burial will take place in the parish Cemetery in the spring. Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillan's Funeral Home, Black Point. www.macmillansfuneralhome.ca
