WOODS, THOMAS ERIC - Saturday, February 28, 2004 - Age 7 1/2. Thomas, son of Angela (Galbraith) and J.D. Woods, after a courageous 7-year battle with cancer, in the loving arms of his parents and favorite "lad" Pup. Thomas leaves his Mom and Dad, sisters Grace and Eva, brother William, grandparents John and Judy (Kenny) Woods, Vincent and Hilda (Jenkins) Galbraith, aunts Kyla Woods and Erica (Sean) Lane, uncles Trent (Sandra) Galbraith, Evan (Shannon) Woods and Tyson Woods, cousins Zachary and Jacob Lane, Jordan and Caleb Galbraith, and numerous family and friends. Thomas recently received his First Communion and was Confirmed by Father Jim McQuade of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Nelson and attended the Sunday school program. He attended Nelson Rural School and was recipient of the "Phoenix Award" for "success through personal perseverance" and selected twice as "Student of the Month". Thomas proudly received his Yellow Belt from The Invisible Fist school of Karate and he enjoyed participating in gymnastics and swimming lessons. He enjoyed playing Power Rangers, Rescue Heroes, sword fights, pirate stories, going in the woods with Dad. He was well known for his rendition of Garth Brooks, "The River" at many church and community functions including the Relay for Life and other fundraising events in Saint John and Miramichi. Thomas affected the lives of many, many people. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Davidson's Funeral Home (506-622-7464), Miramichi with visitations from 2-4 and 7-9 on Monday, March 1 and Tuesday, March 2. Funeral to be held @ 11 AM on Wednesday, March 3rd at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Miramichi. Donations can be made to the Thomas Woods Memorial Park (for Nelson Rural School).
