Passed peacefully away with her family at her side at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on Tuesday, July 8, 2008, Catherine M. Hearn, age 78 years. Catherine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is predeceased by her dear sister Margaret, her brother Tom and her parents Leo and Mary Ellen Stack. Catherine will be deeply missed by her loving and devoted husband; her eight children and their families. She is survived by her husband Ned; her children: Eddie (Frances), Betty, Tommy (Helen), Paul (John Cambell), Brenda (Jerry Chafe), John (Mary), Leo and Mary (John Cooper). As well, Nanny Hearn will be remembered dearly by her grandchildren: Greg and Richard Hearn, Lorena, Yuri and Meghan Power, Melanie and Miranda Hearn, Sheldon, Adam and Jessica Chafe, Keegan and Kayla Hearn and Nicole McCue and her great-grandchildren: Hannah and Joshua. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Wednesday, July 9 from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Thursday, July 10 from 2 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, July 11, 2008 at 11 a.m. from St. Joseph's Church, Petty Harbour with interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Petty Harbour. Flowers gratefully accepted or a donation may be made in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
