ALICE YVONNE TRITES

TRITES, ALICE YVONNE - At St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto, on March 8th, 2004. Beloved and cherished wife of the late Alan Gore Trites. Predeceased by sisters Helen and Kathleen (Ferguson), brothers Donald and George. Daughter of the late Dr. George B. Ryan and Nellie Palmer Ryan. Born in Paris, France, she attended schools in France and England. In 1940 she fled the Nazi onslaught in France and spent the rest of her life in Canada. Her lifelong love of the theatre and acting led to leads in both English and French plays. She studied singing for many years in Toronto, drawing and painting in Paris, France and Toronto. She was a Past President of the Alliance Française in Toronto and a life Member of the Toronto Heliconian Club. She will be remembered for her many amusing stories and anecdotes; remembered and missed by the nieces and nephews she loved. A service will be held in the chapel of the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Avenue West, (2 lights west of Yonge St., Toronto) Thursday, March 11th at 2:00 pm. If desired, contributions to the Heliconian Hall Foundation, 35 Hazelton Avenue, Toronto, M5R 2E7, in memory of Alice would be welcomed.
