STEPHEN BARRY GOTELL
GOTELL, STEPHEN BARRY - The death of Stephen Barry Gotell of Chamcook, Charlotte County, and companion of Nancy Keay occurred April 6, 2004 at the Charlotte County Hospital. He was born at Saint John, son of Marion (Butland) Gotell and the late Cecil Gotell. Barry was an avid outdoorsman who found peace in nature. His fishing adventures took him to many remote and beautiful places most of us will never see. Barry was an accomplished artist and collector. His carvings and hands on approach are a testament to old school methods and patience. He was well traveled and always brought with him a keen interest in history. He was well known in his collector circle of friends as a wealth of knowledge (which almost led to the destruction of Bell's wonderful invention on more than one occasion). Barry was a self made man, the epitome of a hard worker who always took care of his own and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his mother Marion, companion, Nancy Keay; sons, David (Erin) of Passekeag, Mark of B.C.; brothers, Dana (Barb) of Saint John, Kevin of Winnipeg; nephews Cory and Jeff; nieces, Sara and Michelle; granddaughter Emily; aunt Claire Peddle (Ian); and Nancy Keay's grandchildren, Scott, Steffinie, Justin and Samantha whom he adored as his own. The funeral will be held Friday, 1:00pm, at Reid's Funeral Home Chapel, 1063 Main Street, Hampton, with Rev. Kent Burdett officiating. Interment in Hampton Rural Cemetery. A reception will follow at Hampton Presbyterian Church Hall. Memorials to Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
