HUDSON WALLACE CLOWATER

CLOWATER, HUDSON WALLACE - Born May 20, 1924 in McNamee, N.B. He was the son of the late Lawrence Clowater and Verna (O'Donnell). Beloved husband of Doris (Wilson). Father of Wayne (Colette), from Bathurst, N.B,. and Heather from Pierrefonds. Grandfather of Christopher, Andrea, Kathryn and Marissa. Brother of Lawrence Junior from New Bandon, N.B., Lloyd from New Bandon, N.B., Gertrude McCormick from Fredericton, N.B., and Zelda O'Donnell from McNamee, N.B. Predeceased by his two brothers Earl and Cyril. Hudson also leaves behind many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He will be sadly missed by his beloved companion Goldie. Teacher and administrator in the field of education for over 40 years. He taught in many communities in New Brunswick including McNamee, Blackville, Fredericton, Chimpman and Perth-Andover. His career on the West Island of Montreal included being a Vice Principal at John Rennie High School, the first Principal of Lindsay Place High School and an administrator with the Lakeshore School Board. He obtained his teaching certificate from the Teachers College, in Fredericton, his Bachelor of Education from the University of New Brunswick, in Fredericton, and his Masters of Education from the University of Hawaii, in Honolulu. His love of life included family, friends, arts, music and travelling the world. He supported many worthwhile charities. He was a past member of the Y's Men Club of Fredericton, N.B., Rotary Club of Perth-Andover, N.B., member and former Elder of St. John's United Church in Pointe-Claire, and a member of Retired Teachers Associations in New Brunswick and Quebec. Visitation on Sunday, April 11, 2004 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Blvd, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, 1-800-657-5678. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 12, 2004 at 11 a.m. at St. John's United Church, 98 Aurora, Pointe-Claire. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimers Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
