MANCHESTER, MORRIS - The death of Percival Morrison Manchester occurred at Sault Ste Marie, Ont. on April 17, 2004. Born in Saint John, NB in 1914, he was the eldest son of the late Percy and Hazel (Morrison) Manchester. He was a graduate of Saint John High 1931 and UNB, Forestry BSc 1935. He lived in the Sault for many years but made numerous return visits to NB. He was very active in Holy Trinity Church and Toastmasters Soc. and upon his retirement from Searchmont-Weldwood he became an ardent volunteer. He received a citation at Gov. House in 2002 for his outstanding contributions and was named volunteer of the year 2001. Morris was husband of the late Dorothy (Goldthorpe) Manchester, father of Glen (Mae), the late Allen (Patty) and Jennifer Vena (Dave), grandfather of ten, brother of the late Stewart (Woodie), the late Don (Gwen), Jean Flewwelling (late Paul), Dorothy Willett (late Don) and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends visited at Northwood Funeral Home, April 20, with the committal service in the chapel at 2 pm. The Rev. Robert Elkin officiated. Numerous donations were received in Morris's memory.
