84, Glace Bay It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Phillips of Glace Bay, on Oct. 20, 2008. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Donnell and Florence (MacKeigan) Kerr. Jean was a member of Knox United Church, Knox United Church Choir and a longtime member of Jubilee Rebekah Lodge No. 14. Jean was very active and enjoyed bowling, card playing with family and friends, but especially enjoyed her time on the Mira with her grandchildren. Jean is survived by two sons, Barry (Margaret), Quispamsis, N.B., and Bruce (Wendy), Rothesay, N.B.; one brother, Donald Kerr (Greta), Round Island. Jean is also survived by 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Blair, daughter, Lindsay Campbell, brother, Allister Kerr and a sister, Lois Ferguson. Visitation for the late Jean Phillips will take place Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay, 849-7520. Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, at Knox United Church at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Finlayson officiating. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
