ROONEY, FLORENCE CECILIA - The death of Mrs. Florence Cecilia Rooney, loving wife of George Rooney of West Saint John, occurred on Thursday April 29, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born 1918, in Saint John she was the daughter of the late Michael and Catherine (McKenna) Kelly. Florence was very involved in St. Rose de Lima Church for many years. Besides her loving husband George, she is survived by her loving children Thomas (Karen) of Saint John, Catherine Nowlan of Cambridge Narrows, Paul (Jacqueline) of Grand Bay-Westfield, Michael (Barbara) of Grand Bay-Westfield, Dorothy of Saint John, David (Sylvie) of Quispamsis, Daniel (Betty) of Acamac and James (Danielle) of Grand Bay-Westfield; two brothers Fred Kelly (Anna) of Lowell, Mass and John Kelly (Terry) of Winnipeg, MB; two sisters Margaret Graham of Newmarket, Ont and Elsie Donnelly of Saint John; 20 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by twin grandsons; three brothers Frank, Charles and Lawrence; two sisters Mary and Pauline; and son-in-law Daniel Nowlan. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424), with visitations on Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Rose de Lima Church on Monday May 3, 2004 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
